LED Panel Rebates in Ontario: An Office Lighting Buying Guide

Ready to plan your Ontario LED upgrade?

Can office LED panels qualify for an Ontario lighting rebate? Eligible fixtures may receive an Instant Discount, but panel dimensions or the word LED do not establish eligibility. Ask the participating distributor to verify the exact manufacturer model, applicable program category and installation site before ordering.

This guide helps you compare an office lighting quote. For building eligibility, use our Ontario commercial lighting rebate checklist.

Start with the ceiling and the work being done

Separate open offices, meeting rooms, corridors and reception areas. Record fixture quantities and ceiling openings in each zone. A 2-by-4-foot panel and a 2-by-2-foot panel solve different physical installation needs; neither size determines the right light output for the room.

Ask your installer to confirm the mounting method, supply voltage and available space. Include any surface-mount kits or suspension accessories in the quote. An attractive equipment price can be misleading if the mounting accessories and installation work are missing.

Compare output at the setting you will actually use

For a selectable-wattage panel, request the watts and lumen output for the proposed setting. Do not compare the highest output on one datasheet against a lower setting on another. Ask for a lighting layout when the room layout, ceiling height or desk positions make a like-for-like replacement uncertain.

Colour temperature describes the appearance of the light, not its brightness. Choose a consistent setting for connected spaces and evaluate a sample where practical. For computer-based work, discuss glare and fixture positioning with the lighting designer or installer rather than selecting by wattage alone.

Ask these questions before accepting a quote

  • What exact manufacturer model and selected configuration are being supplied?
  • What mounting accessories are included?
  • Will the driver work with our intended dimmer or control system?
  • What is the verified discount for this model and project?
  • Are removal, disposal and installation separately priced?
  • What do the warranty terms cover, and who handles a replacement?

Keep the product price and the rebate separate

Request a quote showing quantity, unit price, confirmed discount and remaining equipment cost. The program requires a minimum customer contribution. Do not treat a supplier's advertised maximum incentive as a discount that applies to every panel.

For an existing Ontario office, gather the installation address, business name and photographs of the current lighting. The Instant Discounts program covers qualifying retrofits in existing facilities; new construction is excluded. The distributor should review the project before confirming the discount.

What if the panel includes a motion sensor?

Describe the rooms and occupancy pattern, and request the sensor and driver specifications. A sensor option changes the control requirements, so ask for that exact configuration to be checked. See our guide to occupancy sensors and lighting rebates.

Request a panel lighting quote

Browse Selix Kala LED panels, then send your room list, fixture quantities and photos. Product collection listings are browsing options, not confirmation that every model qualifies. Our Ontario lighting rebate page is the starting point for discussing your project.
